For my Typography class at the college! :phew: We were supposed to take an image and recreate it using only a black, non-manipulated Garamond font (ie. no un-scaled stretching, warping, or opacity control).

Much fun was had!

I'm debating on coloring this little guy, also maybe adding on some more text to fill in the negative space, since it still looks incomplete to me. What do you all think?

Nice - I also had a similar assignment for Typography class, using only letters to create a portrait of a famous person: [link]
Funny that I never bother making more of them because these kind of images are fun yet challenging to make, and can turn out amazing just like your parrot. :D

That is SO COOL. O:

I thought it was just a drawing using different line types, but that is just so much more interesting. You did an excellent job! As a side note, I'd also like to say that I'm impressed with the variety in your gallery as of late. It's really nice! C:

I think the picture looks fine as is, really. If anything, maybe the parrot itself could have some flat color or something, but you don't want to detract from what actually makes up the image.

Yeah, about 3 weeks of studio time, twice a week, with about 2½ hours per session, but I thought it was worth it. :D

And it was an assignment, so uh, I had no choice but to do it. Thanks!
